He wouldn't let go of any part of it - not the anger, not the fear, not the love, not the loss, not even the house or the blood-painted face on its wall.

To those genuinely upset, he'd offer that - and usually a lot more - to help comfort.

Catching them is what he does.

Indulging on the kick of a drink was something he did seldom and with care, since he rarely lost sight of the fact that he might be watched at any time and with more malicious, constant attention than most people were able to maintain for a moment.
